When you submit the booking form, we collect:

  • Required details: Your name, phone number, and the service you are asking about.
  • Optional details: Your email address, vehicle registration, vehicle make and model, preferred date, and any additional information you include.

3. Why We Collect It

We collect personal information to:

  • Review and respond to your booking request
  • Contact you to discuss availability and the requested work
  • Keep records where reasonably needed for service or legal purposes

4. How We Use and Share Your Information

The booking form sends the details you provide to the workshop by email. Information may also be processed by:

  • Website hosting and email-delivery providers where needed to send the request
  • Professional advisers where reasonably needed
  • Government or regulatory authorities where required by law

5. Overseas Processing

Website hosting and email-delivery providers may process information outside New Zealand. You can contact Mao Motors if you want more information about how a booking request is handled.

6. Security

Mao Motors takes reasonable steps to protect booking information from loss, unauthorised access, use, modification, or disclosure. No method of sending information online can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. Your Rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal information
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Make a complaint about how we handle your information

8. Data Retention

Booking information is kept only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, or where retention is required by law.

9. Website Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies are on by default. We use Google Analytics 4 to count page visits and understand how content is used so we can improve the website. The bottom Cookie bar stays visible until you choose “Allow cookies” or “Reject analytics cookies”. Your choice is saved in this browser. Use “Cookie settings” in the footer to change it later. A saved rejection keeps analytics off after reload.

While analytics is on, the site sends one page-view event for the initial page and each page navigation. The page location contains only this site’s origin and path; query strings, fragments, and referrers are omitted; the static page title is sent. Google Analytics may process standard browser, device and session information. We do not send booking form contents or phone/map clicks. Google Signals and ad-personalisation features are off. Rejecting analytics immediately stops future collection and removes GA cookies from this browser; it does not remove data Google has already received.
